Lemma

Privacy Notice

Last updated: 18 October 2026

Lemma is operated by Paul Bevan. This notice explains what personal information Lemma keeps and why.

Information we collect

  • Your email address and a hashed password, when an account is created for you.
  • A sign-in session, so you can stay logged in.
  • The audiences and topics you choose.
  • The ideas you claim, the draft you write, and your takeaway.
  • Your credit balance, and a credit request if you ask for more.
  • A rating and any comment you send through feedback.
  • A record of account actions such as logging in, claiming an idea, and saving a draft. The record stores the fact of the action, not the text of your draft.
  • Your email address if you join the early-access list on the public homepage.

We do not sell your personal information.

Why we use it

  • To give you access to Lemma and keep your draft available to you.
  • To apply the credit allowance and review requests for more credits.
  • To understand whether Lemma is useful and what to improve.
  • To keep the service secure and see which accounts are in use.
  • To reply if you contact us, and to tell you about access you asked for.

Creating the first draft sends the source research for that idea to OpenAI. Your later edits stay in Lemma and are not sent as the text you type into the draft.

Cookies

The sign-in cookie is needed to run your account. An optional measurement cookie on the public homepage is used only if you accept it. Details are in the cookie notice.

Who else processes it

OpenAI processes the source research when Lemma writes a first draft, and, if you accept measurement cookies, visit information from the public homepage.

The account database sits on the computer that runs Lemma. It is not open to the public internet. We share personal information where that is needed to run Lemma or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account exists. Drafts stay until the claim is released or the account is deleted. Feedback and activity history can remain after an account is closed so we can see how the service was used. Early-access email addresses stay until you ask us to delete them.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to certain uses. You can withdraw cookie consent by choosing Reject on the cookie notice.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
